Help Adding Photos to Your Designs

Here are some answers to common questions about adding a photo or logo to your invitations on invys.com.

Instructions for how to do it are below as well.

What kinds of files can I use?
You may use a .jpg, .gif, or .png file.

How large should my image be / what resolution is required?
The maximum file size is 3mb.  To ensure proper resolution we recommend your  image is at least 200dpi at the size you wish to use it on your card.  An invitation measures 5" x 7", so an image that you'd like to appear half the width of the invitation (2.5") would be of 500 pixels wide.

How long will you keep my images in my library?
We keep images in the library for a few weeks.  If you purchase your design (printed cards, printable PDFs, or high resolution artwork formats) then we will keep your images saved in the library for you so you can  re-order cards.
If your image is deleted, you will simply need to re-upload it and add it to your saved project to purchase.

How do I upload and style my image on my card?
See the steps below.  We have a photo upload video tutorial if you prefer.

HOW TO ADD PHOTOS:
USE THE "ADD IMAGE" TOOLS TO BEGIN
Select the Add/Edit Button to begin the image upload process.  This button is found on the lower right corner of the invitation maker under the "Add Image" heading.

SELECT "UPLOAD NEW IMAGE"
You will then be instructed to browse your computer to find the image you wish to add to your computer.  Use a .jpg, .gif, or .png file under 1MB file size.  See the frequently asked questions above for tips on proper resolution

MASKING & CROPPING YOUR IMAGE
Your image will now appear in the image masking and cropping window.

CHOOSING A MASK SHAPE
You can choose from a rectangle, a rounded rectangle, or a circle/ellipse to mask your image.  Click on the radio button next to the shape you wish to use.

If you are using the rounded rectangle shape you have the option of changing the angle of the corner curve to make it more or less rounded.

CROPPING YOUR IMAGE
Use the handles that appear on the corner of the masking shape to select which portion of the image you want to appear on your card.

ADD THE IMAGE TO YOUR LIBRARY
Once you have selected the mask shape you want and cropped the image, click on the "Add to Library" button.

You will be prompted to name your image as it is added to the library.

CHOOSE THE IMAGE YOU WANT TO ADD TO YOUR CARD
Now you have at least one image in your library.  Click on the image itself to add it to your card.

You can also use the "Delete" icon to remove the image from the library.  You also can make adjustments to the mask or cropping by clicking on the "Edit" icon.

POSITION AND SCALE YOUR IMAGE
Now your image will appear in the invitation maker.  Click on your image to drag it into the position you desire.

You can also scale the image larger or smaller by using the handles that appear on the corners of your image.

ADD A BORDER IF DESIRED
To add a border to your image, check the box next to the word "Border".

You can change the color of the border by clicking on the color swatch next to the slider.

You can change the width of the border by using the slider next to the color swatch.

CHANGE OR DELETE YOUR IMAGE
If you want to change your image select the "Add/Edit" button.  This will take you back to the Image Library where you can repeat the steps to upload an entirely new image.  Or you can use the "Edit" icon on the side of your existing image to change the mask or cropping of the image.

You can also delete the image if you no longer wish to use an image on your card.
